For people that are looking for reduce the amount of sunlight that enters their windows without blocking them with shades and window blinds there is an alternative. There are window films available that can be applied to a building’s window that will reduce glare, cut down on ultraviolet rays, and can add security and privacy to that location. Window tinting is a great way to add a unique aesthetic value to a room, or cut down on the amount of unwanted light that enters a window. This window tinting comes in a variety of colors, styles, and lengths to accommodate virtually any application.

The Benefit Of Home Window Tinting

Many homeowners are looking to give the rooms in their house a more modern look without having to undergo any drastic remodeling projects. Window film is a great way to change the look of a room in a home by allowing the homeowner to receive the same amount of light diffusion without having to install a curtain or blind over the window. This allows for the room to have a more open, and sleek look, than a traditionally augmented window would have. A person that uses the window film in their home does not have to worry about choosing a specific color scheme of curtains, valances, and blinds to accessorize the room. Instead, this film can be easily applied, and can quickly transform the look of the room. Window film can breathe life into an old living room, bed room, or even bathroom. Privacy in the bathroom can be achieved without the use of a blind by tinting the window to allow light to pass through, but does not give the ability to clearly see inside the room.

Using Tint on Commercial Property Windows

A growing number of businesses are finding out that they can not only cut costs when it comes to window covering, but also reduce eye irritation of their employees by installing window film. This film can help to diffuse the light that comes into a business from the outside. The light that enters the room is more soft, and easier on the employees eyes. Reflected diffused light from the window film is also less noticeable on computer screens. This is especially useful in office situations where there are a great number of computers in close proximity to a window. Businesses also do not have to worry about flaring up any of their employee’s allergies since window tinting will not hold the dust and allergens that traditional blinds and curtains can. A healthier employee is a more productive employee and, by using window film, an employer can help their business to become more profitable by keeping their employees more productive.

Even Governments Use Window Film Tints

There is also one major governmental use that one can achieve from window film; security. Many of the window films that can be purchased have a tint that is put on them that diffuses light. The more tint that is introduced into the film the darker the tint is. Mirrored window tint is also available. This allows the people inside of a secured dwelling the ability to see out without the general populace being able to see in from outside. Places such as police departments use window film to create a “two way mirror” for case interviews and evidence gathering techniques such as suspect line ups. Window film that is applied to a piece of glass will also give the glass an added layer of protection. Instead of the glass shattering, when impacted, most of the glass will be held by the film. This can result in a decrease of injury, or death, due to shattering, and falling, glass. One can quickly see that window film is a viable option for those agencies that wish to add security and protection to a structure without having to sacrifice on functionality.

Why not use Car Tint

The tinting used for cars is specially formulated for curved surfaces that get intense heat. The adhesives are different than the flat glass adhesives, resin is added for the compound curves.  Although some car tinters say they can install this product on houses and buildings, I would highly advise against it. Even though the products may look similar to regular flat glass tint (used on homes and buildings), it absorbs to much heat which can cause glass breakage on non tempered glass (annealed).

Conclusion
Window film as a variety of applications in several different sectors of the world. It can be used by the average homeowner to add appeal and cut down on the amount of harmful ultraviolet rays,be used by businesses as a way to create a more pleasant working environment, and can add security to a location that warrants it. The pricing of this film is very affordable, and this is allowing a growing number of people to experience the elegance, and functionality, of this window accessory.
